Summer staff counselor at camp crosspoint
This summer, I have the opportunity to be placed on the summer staff at Camp Crosspoint in Pelham Georgia. God has called me to spend 8 weeks interacting with children ranging from ages kindergarten to 8th grade. I will be spending each of these weeks evangelizing to the kids that make their way through camp for both the overnight and day camps. My main focus will be to prioritize spreading the gospel with campers in order to further expand the kingdom of God. As someone who has grown up going to camp every summer, and experienced many weeks and weekends of camp, I know how much of an impact a counselor can have on a kid. I still remember talks I had with former counselors that shaped the way I view the world, and more importantly my walk with Christ.
I’ve served as a counselor at Camp Crosspoint for 2 years, and last summer I had the ability to volunteer much of my time to its mission. It was during that time that I came to the realization that I wanted to spend the entire summer at camp as a full-time staffer using my time to express the grace and glory of God through camp. It is for that reason that I have decided to devote this summer to camp ministry.
As I prepare for this summer, a Bible verse that presents itself to me is 1 Timothy 4:12. It says, “ Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity”. It is important to me that the campers are able to come and learn that even though they are young, God still has the intention and the ability to use them in many ways to further his kingdom. That is a message I truly took to heart as a young camper and have continued to look back upon throughout my life.
With that being said, this summer staff position is supported by the donation of people like you. I have the task of raising $2,200 to help support myself and the mission of camp this summer. If you feel like this is something God has asked you to do, I would greatly appreciate your financial support of any kind through this secured link. If you are not able to donate, I ask that you simply pray for me and my fellow summer staff members as we prepare for this summer and see how God is able to work in the lives of these kids.
